Introduction

GravityView WordPress plugin gives a really simple workflow that starts from collecting the information from the Gravity Forms, configures the content layout and then displays in a nicely manner to your WordPress site.

Difference between gravity forms and gravity view plugin

Gravity forms is most popular and probably the best plugin for creating advanced forms for the WordPress website. It’s easily configurable, powerful, and easy to use. Gravity forms only work in the back end and only helps to get the forms build up and collect the data and store them on the server but it doesn’t do any thing regarding showing the data filled in the forms, on the website in the posts or in a page. This gap of displaying the data on the website is filled by this plugin – it takes the gravity forms data and then display it on the website using one of the pre-defined templates. The templates allows the user to use the data into things like: staff profiles, resumes, events list, and more. Also, in gravity view you can create the forms as well, you don’t need the gravity forms for the form builder then. GravityView – My Pal Floaty from Zack Katz on Vimeo.

How Gravity View Works

The first step in setting this plugin is to create “New View” and then you can either use an existing form that was created or you can build another one using gravity view. Creating a new form from gravity view is so easy and time saving. Firstly, you have to select the form type that you want to use in the website. There are various types of choices are present in the plugin already from which you can choose. Once selected the type of the form, the View will be created with a premade layout to match your form. After creating the form the gravity view plugin asks for two options either to display it as a list or as a table. If there are many entries in the single form present on your website, you will choose “Multiple Entries” and add the pagination, page links etc. All you need on the page should be well organized and smooth for users. After saving the fields for the form, the form can be published. To complete it and show it on the website you have to go to the forms tab in the menu and select the form that you created in gravity view, if needed you can customize it again there. Now use the shortcode and paste that in the page or post in which you want to show it. Once added and published the form will now be displayed on the page and to view the entries you can go to forms>entries. You can approve or reject the entries if they don’t match your requirements. After approval of the entries you can use them to display on the website. For making a submission live on the page of site you can use “Add View” button above the editor bar.
